Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: July 14, 2026

Purpose

This policy describes conduct that is not permitted when using StartupCFO, its APIs, connected services, AI-assisted features, or Investor Portal. It applies to every account, organization member, visitor, and investor who accesses the service.

Lawful business use

You may use StartupCFO only for lawful business purposes. You may not use the service to commit or facilitate fraud, money laundering, tax evasion, securities violations, deceptive fundraising, identity theft, or any other unlawful activity. You may not knowingly submit false financial or company information to mislead an investor, lender, employee, customer, regulator, or other person.

Unauthorized access and security abuse

You may not:

  • Access an account, organization, portal, file, or data without authorization.
  • Bypass authentication, approval gates, rate limits, or other controls.
  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the service without prior written permission.
  • Introduce malware, destructive code, excessive automated traffic, or activity intended to degrade the service.
  • Interfere with another user's access or attempt to discover credentials, tokens, or non-public system information.

Data, privacy, and intellectual property

Do not upload, connect, or share personal, financial, confidential, or proprietary information unless you have the authority and a valid business purpose to do so. You may not use StartupCFO to infringe privacy, publicity, copyright, trademark, trade secret, contractual, or other rights. Investor Portal access does not grant permission to redistribute a founder's materials.

AI-assisted features

You may not use AI-assisted features to generate fraudulent records, impersonate another person, conceal material information, or automate decisions that violate law or another person's rights. AI output must be reviewed before it is used in a financial record, projection, report, or investor communication.

Service misuse

Unless we authorize it in writing, you may not resell, sublicense, white-label, scrape, mirror, reverse engineer, or systematically extract StartupCFO or its content. You may not use the service to benchmark or build a competing product through unauthorized access to non-public features, data, or source materials.

Enforcement

We may investigate suspected violations and remove content, restrict a feature, suspend access, revoke an Investor Portal link, or terminate an account when reasonably necessary to protect users, third parties, or the service. We may preserve and disclose information when required by law or reasonably necessary to address fraud, abuse, or security risk. Where practical, we will provide notice and an opportunity to correct a problem.

Report misuse

To report suspected abuse, email support@gostartupcfo.com. Include enough detail for us to identify the account, portal, or activity at issue. Do not include unnecessary sensitive financial data in an email report.
